Busking during a pandemic . . .
My name is Roan and I busk regularly at Granville Island, playing my ukulele and singing, under my Tiki umbrella. I play a lot of vintage popular jazz songs, mainly from the 1920s to 1940s although I do have a few from the 1910s (plus one from the 1960s that I only play when it rains). I have been busking at Granville Island since I was fourteen years old and it has been a wonderful learning experience!
Since the Coronavirus pandemic it has been very difficult to earn money (for my university fund) and Granville Island tried to help the buskers by getting them to accept "online tips". If you did see me at Granville Island and would like to donate, then there are two ways you can do it on my website. You can either take a picture of the orange "QR Code" or click on the busking tips "Donate" button below!
Please click on the "Donate" button, which will let you send me a busking tip via PayPal or by credit card. (It goes to my "tromroan" account - I also play trombone!)
You can also use it to buy one of my CDs! Just take a look at them on the "etcetera" page to see if you'd like one. You can send me an email too. |
If you'd rather just listen to my music and look around my website, then that's okay too! I always enjoy playing and appreciate your interest. If you do see me at Granville Island, then take a break and listen to a song or two.
Thank you for visiting!
